Best Bars & Restaurants in Flatiron
Polished. Foodie. Intersection energy.
The iconic building, Madison Square Park lunches, and some of Manhattan's best restaurants.
What Makes Flatiron One of the Best Neighborhoods in NYC
“Named after a building, famous for the restaurants around it”
Flatiron is the neighborhood that doesn't need a nightlife scene because the restaurant scene is the nightlife. It sits at the crossroads of everything — Koreatown to the north, Union Square to the south, the park to the west. The building gets all the Instagram love, but the real draw is the insane density of world-class restaurants crammed into a few blocks.
The Flatiron District takes its name from the impossibly photogenic triangular building at 23rd and Broadway, but the neighborhood delivers way beyond that one landmark. Madison Square Park is a lunchtime oasis, anchored by Shake Shack's original location and surrounded by some of the city's most acclaimed restaurants—Eleven Madison Park, Cosme, ABC Kitchen. The streets along Broadway and Park Avenue South are packed with upscale-casual dining, wine bars, and cocktail spots that draw a well-dressed after-work crowd. Eataly's Italian food hall is a destination in itself. It's polished without being stuffy.
A proper date night at one of NYC's best restaurants without the downtown attitude or uptown stuffiness
Eataly is fun but the real Flatiron food scene is on the side streets. Walk past the crowds.
Flatiron is known for
Local lingo: “Everyone takes a photo of the building. Nobody takes a photo of the incredible food two blocks away.”

We come to Flatiron every time we're in the city. The food is consistently great and the vibe is just different from the more touristy neighborhoods. It feels real.
Date night in Flatiron was perfect. Cocktails at a low-key bar, dinner at a place we found on Moodap, and a walk through the neighborhood after. Couldn't have planned it better.
Brought the whole group here for a birthday and we had the best time. Bounced between a few spots — no covers, no dress codes, no attitude. Just a solid night.
I used to overlook Flatiron but it's quickly become one of my favorite neighborhoods. The restaurants punch way above their weight and it's never as crowded as downtown.
