Best Bars & Restaurants in Randalls Island
Manhattan. Undiscovered. Worth it.
Parkland and playing fields in the East River, and the city's main festival ground.
What Makes Randalls Island One of the Best Neighborhoods in NYC
“Another Manhattan neighborhood worth exploring”
Every Manhattan neighborhood has its own rhythm. This one just doesn't have a publicist yet.
Randalls Island sits where the Harlem and East Rivers meet, connected by the RFK Bridge and a footbridge from 103rd Street. It is overwhelmingly parkland: sports fields, tennis courts, Icahn Stadium, waterfront paths and salt marsh, with more grass than anywhere else this close to midtown. It is also where the large summer festivals land, so it swings between empty and packed depending on the weekend. There is very little in the way of permanent food and drink—most of what you will find is event catering—so come for the space, the sport or the show.

Date night in Randalls Island was perfect. Cocktails at a low-key bar, dinner at a place we found on Moodap, and a walk through the neighborhood after. Couldn't have planned it better.
Brought the whole group here for a birthday and we had the best time. Bounced between a few spots — no covers, no dress codes, no attitude. Just a solid night.
I used to overlook Randalls Island but it's quickly become one of my favorite neighborhoods. The restaurants punch way above their weight and it's never as crowded as downtown.
